Tara River rafting is widely regarded as one of the best whitewater rafting experiences in Europe - and the canyon it runs through explains exactly why. The Tara River rises beneath the Komovi mountain in Montenegro and carves its way through one of the deepest river canyons in the world, forming a natural border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro along its final 30 kilometres before meeting the Piva River to form the Drina.The river is floatable by raft and kayak for approximately 100 kilometres of its total 144-kilometre length. The final 15 kilometres deliver the most concentrated and exciting whitewater rafting on the entire route - over 20 rapids through a pristine canyon that can only be reached by water. Hidden waterfalls, crystal-clear tributaries and canyon walls that rise hundreds of metres above the surface make every kilometre of the route genuinely spectacular.We offer two rafting routes on Tara River - a one-day whitewater rafting tour covering the best 18 kilometres of the lower canyon, and a multi-day Full Canyon expedition along the entire navigable course of the river, including an overnight camp deep inside the gorge at a spot no road has ever reached.
